William E. Kristensen, 81, of Warren, Illinois passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at SSM Hospital in Monroe, Wisconsin.  William was born on July 22, 1941 in Cicero, Illinois to Edward and Adeline (Svoboda) Kristensen.  He graduated from York High School.  William married Doris (Malarich) and together they had two children.  William was a carpenter for many years and retired in 2014. William was a lifelong avid reader and teller of many tales. As a student of Civil War History, he enjoyed traveling to historic sites. Also, he was an outdoorsman, and was happiest while on the water fishing or stalking the white tail deer in his beloved Jo Daviess County.

William is survived by his two children- Teri Kristensen of Littleton, CO and Kurt (Debbie) Kristensen of Huntley, IL; grandchildren- Trevor (Brittany) Kristensen of Crystal Lake, IL, and Dana (Eric) Mueller or Rochester, MN; two sisters Lois Swatsheno and Elaine (Allen) Hagen; and his life companion Deb Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Adeline (Svoboda) Kristensen; brother Lee Kristensen; former wife Gail (McGovern) Kristensen.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday June 1, 2023 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, Illinois.
