William J. Bonnet age 95, passed away on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at the Lena Living Center. He was born on May 28, 1923 in E. Dubuque, IL to Bernard and Sophia (Greenwald) Bonnet. He married Lois Graves on August 9, 1945 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warren. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific from 1944-1946. He sold feed and fertilizer for FS for 12 years and then he and his wife farmed in Kent Township until retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former member of the Knight of Columbus. He served on the board of the Farm Bureau for 8 years and as a board member for the Stephenson County Pork Producers for 4 years. He enjoyed playing golf and cards. He also enjoyed watching baseball.

He is survived by three sons, Terry (Diane) Bonnet of Lena, Steve (Susan) Bonnet of Freeport and Dennis (Joyce) Bonnet of Pearl City; daughter Barb (Mike) Daughenbaugh of McConnell;  11 grandchildren, Scott Bonnet, Tony Bonnet, Stephanie Hintz, Jeremy Bonnet, Jennifer Nall, Casey Gerbode, Jake Bonnet, Matt Bonnet, Joe Daughenbaugh, Joan Strong and Eric Switz. 9 great-grandchildren. Sisters; Evelyn Orzechowski of Winona, MN, Helen Toelle of Freeport and Pat Proctor of Dyrersville, IA. Brother; Robert Bonnet of Lena.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lois on April 19, 2003, parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday June 18, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena.

Visitation will be from 9:30 till time of service at the church.

Officiating will be Father Andrew Skrobutt.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his name.
