Obituary

Warren "Cowboy" C. Mohrbacher, 91, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Waverly Place in Stockton. He was born on May 24, 1928 in Des Plaines, IL to Carl and Dorothy (Roesslein) Mohrbacher. Cowboy married Kristine "Krissy" Nelson on February 3, 1984. He served his country in the United States Army from 1952-1957. During his career in the Army, he was a part of 250 paratroop jumps. Cowboy was also a certified black belt. He farmed his entire youth, where he found his love for horses, becoming a farrier for many years, patenting hitches and special boots. Alongside his wife Krissy, they were animal advocates and worked at many racetracks.

Cowboy is survived by his niece; Debbie (Joel) Penkuhn, sisters-in-law; Sandra Marie Nelson, Marjorie (Ron) Mapes, Julie (Tommie) Nelson, and Jackie Nelson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Krissy in 2018, brothers-in-law Ronnie and Bucky Nelson.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at West Ella Highland Cemetery in Gratiot, WI.

A celebration of Cowboy and Krissy's life will be held at their homestead after the graveside services.  In case of rain, the celebration will be held at the Apple River Park House.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
