On September 4, 2025, Vicki Jo (McKinstrey)  VanScoy-Gobeli, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father at the age of 63.

Born on November 14, 1961, in Freeport, Illinois, she was the daughter of Joan Faye (Liphart) Hartley and Donald Lee McKinstrey. She was a 1979 graduate of Warren High School. She married David Wayne VanScoy on June 24, 1978, and together they raised Nicole and Brett. Following David's passing, she found love again and married Lee Gobeli on October 22, 2016.

Vicki lived a life of gracious service and kindness. She worked for many years as a rural letter carrier before retiring, caring deeply for the community she served and offering not only mail delivery but also friendship and compassion along her route. Her faith in God guided her to treat everyone with love, no matter their circumstances, and to lend a helping hand whenever there was need.

She delighted in the simple joys of life — the companionship of her beloved Labradors, the beauty of her garden, the traditions of holiday decorating and baking, and the adventures of travel. Most of all, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandson, nieces, and nephews, who were the light of her life.

Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her daughter, Nicole Homb-Enoos (Bashier) and grandson Kian; her son, Brett VanScoy and granddaughter Kyra. She is also survived by her brother Bob McKinstrey (Joan), her brother Greg McKinstrey (Peggy Barrett), sister Val Wallace (Rob), former sister-in-law Sherri Bates who continued to be like a sister to Vicki, and many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald Lee McKinstrey and Joan Faye (Liphart) Hartley and her husband David Wayne VanScoy of 35 years. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Lee, her children, Nicole and Brett, and by her extended family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A visitation will take place from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Evangelical Free Church in Lena, Illinois.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Evangelical Free Church in Lena, Illinois.

Pastor Kevin Cernek will be officiating the service.

Burial will take place at Nora Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
