Velma L. "Deyo" Bitz, 89, of Warren, IL passed away on February 13th, 2014 at the FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL.

She was born on May 14, 1924 in Lead Mine, WI to Roy and Edna (Farrey) Downs. Velma married Delbert Deyo on September 30, 1942 in Apple River, IL, and he passed away on July 21, 1971. Velma then married James Bitz on July 31, 1985 in Freeport, IL and he passed away on January 22, 2004. Velma enjoyed playing bingo, having coffee in the afternoon at the Stagecoach BP, and taking care of her family.

Velma is survived by her children; Nancy Moyer of Monroe, WI, Donna Moser of Leaf River, IL, John Deyo of Warren, IL, Colleen Wirth of Germantown, WI, Paula (John) Fuller of Arnold, MD, and James Deyo of Warren, IL, one sister in law; Lou Deyo of Warren, IL; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, 5 sisters; Alice Brown of Warren, IL, Joyce Zeal of Warren, IL, Donna Feltmeyer of Warren, IL, June Dawson of Warren, IL, and Judy Baber of Stockton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son Delbert "Butch" Deyo, one brother; Kenneth Downs, three sisters; Phyllis Schiess, Hazel Pierce, and Ruby Phillips, two great grandchildren; Amy and Aaron Fuller, and two sons-in-law; Larry Moser and Keith Moyer.

Services will be held at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL on Monday February 17th at 10:00 AM.

A visitation will be held at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral home on Sunday February 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

Pastor Randy Nicholas will officiate the service.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL.
