Thomas E. Smith Sr., age 89 of South Wayne, WI, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his home. He was born May 14, 1932, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to Arthur and Alice Lee (Towell) Smith.   He married Maggie McDermott on December 10, 1994 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He had a love for tractors and horses and cherished the many times giving hay rides to his family and friends.  He was a lifelong farmer who most recently farmed in the Darlington and Gratiot area. He also spent 16 years working for Monroe's Parks and Recreation.

He is survived by his wife Maggie of South Wayne, WI; five children- Dallas (Linda) Smith of Machesney Park, Rhonda Smith of Solgohachia, AR, Isaac (Della) Smith of Rockton, IL, Steven (Mary) Smith of Machesney Park, IL, Thomas Smith jr. of Rockford, IL; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother Ray Smith of Texas and many more family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brother Elbert and Lowery, and Violet H. Smith the mother of his five children.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. til 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

Funeral Service to follow, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home.

Officiating will be Pastor Derek Glover.

Interment will take place at Zion Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his name.
