Pearl City- Thomas J. Schauer, 61, of Pearl City passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Thomas was born on September 9, 1953 to Dorrance and Bernyce (Kelly) Schauer in Savanna, IL. He graduated from Savanna High School in 1972. Thomas married Kathy Dauphin on July 14, 1973 at St. John's Catholic Church in Savanna, IL, they have been married for 41 years. Thomas owned and operated his own milk truck service for many years. He also owned Schauer and Ney Clothing Store in Savanna, and for the last thirteen years he was employed by Estes Express Lines.

Thomas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking his dog, Tanner, on walks. Thomas was a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, Pack 27, in Pearl City.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Kathy of Pearl City, IL; children Randy (Nichole) Schauer of Pearl City, IL and Shaun Schauer of Surprise, AZ; two grandchildren Riley and Mattie Shauer of Pearl City, IL; two brothers James Schauer of Albuquerque, NM and John (Shellie) Schauer of DeBary, FL; one brother-in-law David (Susan) Dauphin, of Albany, IL; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Chris Williams and family of Kent, IL, Jeanne Brandenburg and Greg Hoover of Pearl City, IL.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held from 8:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, IL.

A luncheon will be provided following the funeral service at the church.

Rev. Fr. Andrew Skrobutt will officiate the services.

Cremation Rites will be accorded with private interment service at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City, IL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Pearl City Ambulance and Fire Department, and the Pearl City food pantry.
