Teresa L. Cook, age 59, of Shullsburg, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at home surrounded by family. Teresa fought a courageous battle with cancer for 4 ½ years.

Teresa was born to Eugene and Carolyn (Boelk) Harwick on July 31, 1963 in Freeport, Illinois. She graduated from Warren High School in 1981. Teresa married Robert C. Cook, Jr. on July 29, 1989 at the Apple River United Methodist Church in Apple River, IL. Together they raised 5 children. Teresa worked at Swiss Colony for many years and later for the Warren School District cafeteria for several years. She loved Christmas, it was her favorite holiday. She also enjoyed picking out and decorating the tree with her family. Teresa loved collecting snowmen, gnomes, and angels. She enjoyed working in her flower garden where she loved seeing butterflies and hummingbirds. Teresa was a kind, friendly person who could strike up a conversation with anyone. Most of all, she loved her family.

Teresa is survived by her husband; her five children: Christopher (Ashley) Cook of Dubuque, IA, Mitchell (JoAnn) Cook of Cuba City, WI, Matthew (Kasha) Cook of Shullsburg, WI, Alyson Cook and Hope Cook, Shullsburg, WI.; her five grandchildren: Desmond, Lilia, Norah, Charles and Thomas Cook; her parents: Eugene and Carolyn Harwick of Warren, IL; her five siblings: Lori (Kevin) Stietz of Apple River, IL, Timothy (Deb) Harwick of Warren, IL, Kevin (Reva) Harwick of Warren, IL, Steven (Tanya) Harwick of Freeport, IL, and Tammy (Mike) Renz of Warren, IL; father-in-law, Robert C. Cook, Sr. of Warren, IL.; In-laws: Kathy McPherson of Lakeville, MN, Cara Beth Kisting of Cuba City, WI, Justin (Brenda) Cook of Shullsburg, Nathan (Christa) Cook of Apple River, IL and Caleb (Shawna) Cook of Warren, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Delbert and Evelyn Harwick; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Hazel Boelk; mother-in-law, Sharon Cook; a sister at birth and a brother in infancy.

Teresa's family would like to thank Dr. Hegeman and Dr. Baskaya and all of the other doctors and nurses at UW Madison that cared for her throughout her battle. Also, thank you to the wonderful nurses at St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care these past couple of weeks. They are all truly special people.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at the Apple River United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon, with the service beginning at noon. Lunch will follow the service.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
