Suzanne C. Schaaf, age 68, of Dakota, IL passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021. She was born on March 27, 1953, to John and Juanita (Clarno) Arn in Freeport, IL. She married Michael Schaaf forty-five years ago at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport, IL.

Sue worked in quality control at Micro Switch in Freeport, IL for twenty-eight years. She enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, knitting, and especially spending time with her two grandsons. She was a quiet person until you got to know her. Sue was also organized, loving, caring, and a great listener.

She is survived by her husband Michael Schaaf; daughter, Sherri (Brian) Beatty; son, Shawn (Katie) Schaaf; grandchildren, Jackson, and William Schaaf; sister and brother in-laws, Henry (Myrna) Schaaf, Martha (Dennis) Hoeger, Demetrius (Michele) Schaaf, Elaine (LaVaughn) Eisman, Lois Johnson, Anita Schaaf, Sam (Sandy) Schaaf, Vincent Jr. (Ellen) Schaaf, Frank (Amber) Schaaf, Loretta Schaaf, Monica (Ron) Riege, Dorothy Arn, Connie Arn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; Father and Mother-in-law, Vincent and Florence Schaaf; brothers, Stephan Arn and Michael Arn; brother and sisters-in-law, Karl Schaaf, Marita Schaaf, Bridgett Schaaf; and four nephews.

Private family services will be held.

Burial will take place at Orangeville Cemetery in Orangeville, IL.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at FHN and Lena Living Center for the excellent care provided to Sue.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for FHN Hospice.
