Sheldon Grant Heid, 79, of Rockford, IL formerly of Warren and Freeport passed away on March 1, 2017 at Amberwood Care Center in Rockford. Sheldon was born on April 23, 1937 to Wilhelm and Olga Heid in Kent, IL.

He is survived by his children Sheila Heid of Davis, Rick Heid and Jeff (Jody) Heid, both of Galena, Beth (Jeff) Brown of Durand; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sisters Velda Schoenfeld, Joyce Keenan, Doris Busch, and Bonnie Anderson; brother Galen Heid; sister-in-law Linda Heid; and many other extended family members.

Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Linda Outzen and Maralee Thomas; five brothers-in-law George Keenan, Ralph Schoenfeld, Lloyd Busch, Mike Anderson, and Pierre Outzen.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren.

Cremation rites were accorded.
