Shawn M. Haight 51, of Lena passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Gardendale, Alabama. He was born on December 27, 1964 in Freeport, IL to Jill Miles and his adoptive parents Ted and Julie Haight. Shawn attended Freeport High School and Aquin High School. He received his GED and served his country in the United States Army. Shawn was owner and operator of SMH Rebuilding Company and he also drove truck for Burkina Express INC. Shawn enjoyed driving truck across the country covering all 48 states in the continental US. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, hunting deer, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved to grill out and follow the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls, and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Shawn is survived by three daughters; Nicole Haight her two sons Thomas and Robert Morgan of Stockton, Cortney and Brianna Haight both of Lena, mother; Jill (Haight) Miles and his adopted parents Julie Haight and Theodore (Harriet) Haight; two step children; Joe and Brittany Goebel; four step grandchildren; Gavin and Zora Goebel, and Blaine and Evalene Drake; two brothers; Darrell (Vickie) Haight and David (Dee Ann) Haight, two sisters; Debra (Michael) Goodwin and Deanna (Thomas) De Bisschop and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by grandparents; Ted (Cel) Haight and Clem (Julia) Bonnet, and aunt Mary Buman.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Leamon Funeral Home. Lena, IL.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Inurnment will follow services at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, IL

Cremation Rites were accorded to his wishes.

A memorial has been established in his name.
