Sharon K. Karl, 80, of Freeport, IL passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born on June 8, 1940 in Freeport, IL to L. Glen and Ruth (Rutter) Yeager. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1958. Sharon married Clarence "Curley" Karl on June 7, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sharon enjoyed playing in the lady's golf league, couples card club, couples golf league, sewing club, and the Harlem Hussies.
Sharon is survived by her husband Clarence "Curley" of Freeport; two daughters- Vicki (Bill) Kerchner of Port Charlotte, FL and Lesa (David) Hill of Freeport; grandchildren- Tim Randecker of Lena, Tiffany (Aaron) England of Lena, Ben (Bekah) Randecker of Lena, and Victoria (Tom) Maloney of Oak Creek, WI; six great-grandchildren- Ava, Deaken, Rhianna, Brennan, Josiah, and Aria; brother- Gary (Donna) Yeager of Freeport, and nieces and nephews, especially her niece Ann, who she had a close bond to.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Harold.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.
A visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of services.
Pastor Tony Atansio will officiate the services.
A luncheon will follow at Cedarville Baptist Church in Cedarville, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
