Roger Fay Teuscher, 77, passed away on August 3, 2019, unexpectedly at his home in Cape Coral, Florida.
Roger was born June 16, 1942 in Monroe, WI to Fay and Merle (Yost) Teuscher.
He graduated from Warren High School in 1960 and attended Carroll College majoring in Psychology, Sociology and Education. HE attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and achieved his master degree in Guidance and Counseling in 1973. In1974, he completed administrative course work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
He began his career in education as a reading specialist and fourth grade teacher at Nora Elementary School. Following this, he was the principal at Apple River Jr. High School for seven years. He spent the remaining 24 years of his educational career as principal of Warren Elementary School.
He married Diane Roberts on July 24, 1974. They raised two daughters, Heidi and Jennifer.
Roger enjoyed cooking, gardening, and entertaining his friends and family. He liked listening to classical music and show tunes. In his years at Warren School, Roger touched the lives of many students, parents, and staff. He was very dedicated to the Warren Community by serving on several boards for the Village of Warren, Warren Development Board, the Community Building, and the Warren Library. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time in Florida and North Carolina.
Roger is survived by his children-Heidi Sigafus (Scott) of Apple River, IL and Jennifer Teuscher (Lincoln Smith) of Cape Coral, FL; his sister Susan Leroux of Manosque, France; grandchildren- Eron Sigafus, Lauren Sigafus, Alizea Teuscher; nephew Justin Leroux; and his cat Macie.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fay and Merle Teuscher.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Warren United Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held at the Warren United Methodist Church from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday September 6, 2019 and again from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A private family burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren, IL.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name and contributions can be made at the Apple River State Bank to benefit the Warren School District (CUSD #205) and the Warren United Methodist Church in his memory.
