Roberta F.Medeke- Thomasson, 99, of Lena passed away on Monday January 23, 2017 at her home. She was born on October 9, 2017 in Freeport, Il to Charles and Ethel (Roberts) Gitz. She married Tom Medeke on April 17, 1938 and he passed away on March 6, 1969. She married Burdette Thomasson on August 22, 1977 and he passed away on January 30, 2007. She was a lifelong farmer in the Lena area and she worked at Korn's Pastime and Lena golf course. Roberta enjoyed fishing, mowing her lawn, playing cards, being around people. She was an avid Chicago sports fan, NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon.

She is survived by three children; Gene (Terry Henry) Medeke of Platteville, WI, Sharon (Bob) Thomas of Freeport, Il and Barbara Coomber of Freeport, IL. Grandchildren; Chad (Jill) Thomas of Wanunkee, WI, Mike (Kayla) Thomas of Springfield, IL, Todd Thomas of Port Huron, MI, Tammy (Tim) Munson of Dayton OH, Tracy (Trey) Pundt of Antelope, CA, Bridget (Geo) Stray of Lake Wood, IL, Stacy (Brendan) Beggin of Crystal Lake, IL, Brett (Sue) Coomber of McFarland, WI, Renee Chenong of Lena, IL, Mathew Coomber of Freeport, IL , Jamie (Rob) Ott of Lodi, WI, Jody Medeke of Madison, WI and Jenny (Tony) of Allen, TX; great grandchildren Rhett, Alyssa, Addison, Alexis, Mason, Knox, Chase, Tico, Tyler, Nicole, Allison, Bryce, Alexis (Chris), Christian, Jeremy, Trey, Shay, Abby, Grace, Zane, Alex, Brandon; three great-great grandchildren; step-children Judy (Larry) Buchenau, Steve (Mary Ann) Thomasson, Dick (Kara) Thomasson, Mary (John) Steele; step grandchildren Amy Buchenau, Beth (Allen) Rich, Dan (Kelli) Buchenau, Jason Thomasson, Joel Thomasson, Shauna (Chris) Lewis, Eric Thomasson, Jeffrey Steele, Matthew Steele, Mollie Steele; six step great-grandchildren; sister Bernice Zipse; several nieces nephews and cousins.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Tom in 1969, second husband Burdette in 2007; siblings Cletus, Emerson, Bob, and Thelma.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

A visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Pastor Kenneth Arndt will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.

A memorial has been established in her name.
