Robert E. Spinhirne, 62, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Oakley Courts in Freeport, IL. He was born on May 18, 1953 in Freeport, IL to Howard and Beulah (Brinkmeier) Spinhirne.

Robert was a 1971 graduate of Lena-Winslow High. He graduated from Highland Community College and continued farming on the family farm until 2012. Robert was a member of the Lena United Methodist Church and was a hardworking man who loved the outdoors.

He is survived by two sisters: Kay (Forrest) Hagie of Rockford, IL and Sharon (Kenneth) Koch of Lena, IL, two brothers: Richard (Karen) Spinhirne and Doug Spinhirne all of Lena; five nephews, three nieces, and one cousin Mary Lou Masson of Alabama.

Robert is preceded by his parents and one great nephew, Mathias Koch and sister in law Donna Spinhirne.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday, March 28, 2016 with Funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Rev. Brian LeBaron will officiate

Burial will be in the Lena Burial Park

A memorial has been established in his name.
