Robert "Bob" G. Schulz, 86 of Freeport passed away on December 29, 2023, at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born on June 11, 1937, to Vernon and Francis (Fryer) Schulz in Orangeville, IL. Robert married Regina Fuchs on September 21, 1968, at the Orangeville United Methodist Church.

He worked for 35 years as a machinist for Micro Switch-Honeywell in Freeport.  Robert was an avid reader and loved taking walks. He would always enjoy making his own jelly and apple sauce. In his retirement years Regina and Robert took various trips around the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.

Robert is survived by his five children- Julie (Mike) Anthon, Jon (Jennifer) Schulz, Jeremy (Katie) Schulz, Daphne (Ron) Bone, Cindy (Peter) Bohme; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister- Carol Jeschke.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife Regina and his parents.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m.  at Cramer-Leamon Funeral Home in Orangeville, IL.

A private family service to follow.

Bruce Harbach will officiate the service.

Burial will take place at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in McConnell, IL.

A memorial has been established in his name.
