Robert "Bob" Gile, age 81, of Oak Park Place Dubuque Iowa, formerly of Warren and Cedarville, IL passed away on Friday July 24, 2026, surrounded by his family in Dubuque, IA. He was born on August 25,1944 in Cuba City, WI to James and Genevieve (Townsend) Gile. He married Noreen Homb June 26, 1971, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren. They had their son Jason Gile, the light of their life on April 9, 1972.

Bob worked at Kelly Springfield- Goodyear Tire for many years until retirement. He also worked at Hartzell's IGA Grocery Store in Warren, IL. Bob served his country with the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling to California to visit their son Jason and got to meet Jay Leno. Bob also had a passion for photography, he photographed senior pictures, weddings, and countless family pictures. He was a big part of his community being a member of the Warren Village Board, American Legion, and the Lions Club. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren, IL.

He is survived by his siblings-Ronald (Betty) Gile, Glenda (Ben) Temple Both of Dubuque, IA, Michael (Kay) Gile of Hazel Green, WI, Barb (Tim) Ziegle of Hayward, WI, Denny (Barb) Gile of Janesville, WI; sister in-laws Karen Gile of Cuba City, WI, Karyle Gile of Waunakee, WI, Diane Gile of Scales Mound, IL; Brother and sister in-laws- William Homb of Freeport Ill, Jerry (Mardell) Homb of Warren Ill, Daniel (Rita) Homb of Warren Ill, John (Kathy) Homb of Port Washington WI, Kevin Homb of Rockford Il, Theresa (Scott) VenHuizen of Stockton Il; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his special friend Mark Mahoney and many close friends too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his, wife Noreen, son Jason, parents Jim and Gen Gile, brothers Dave Gile, Gary Gile, and Pat Gile, and sister Dorothy Gile; in-laws Ralph and Marjorie Homb, brother- in-laws Brian Homb and Bob Lethlean, sister-in-laws Marlene Homb and Michelle Lethlean, and nephew Shawn Homb and special friend Ann Mahoney

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 29th, 2026 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren Ill.

Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 A.M.

Burial will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery.
