Robert Desmond, 79, passed away surrounded by his daughters at home on Thursday, November 4, 2021, in Lena, Illinois. He was born on September 6, 1942, to Robert and Audrey (Monns) Hayes in Chicago Illinois. He married Carol (Livingston) on September 28, 1963, in Oak Park Illinois. He enjoyed a wonderful career managing a warehouse for Sears Roebuck and Company.  He loved taking long rides in the country, going to the casino, car shows, and especially spending time with his daughters.

He is survived by his two daughters; Karen Desmond and Sharon (Rich) Huffman; Brother Dennis Desmond; brother-in-law's George (Mary Ann) Livingston, Jack Livingston, Tom (Gail) Livingston; sister-in-law Pattie Gallo; beloved friend Donna Miller; numerous nieces, nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol in April of 2021; brother-in-law's Norm Powell, Pat Gallo; sisters-in-law's Darlene Livingston, and Marlene Livingston; and beloved friend Keith Miller.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
