Richard R. Ratley, age 73 of McConnell, previously of Lake in the Hills, IL went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

He was born June 24, 1948, in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles and Adeline (Swinich) Ratley.  He enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Richard married Susan DuPere on November 23, 2013, in McConnell, IL.  He enjoyed riding horses and was especially proud of his ownership of a grandson of Secretariat. He loved being a long-haul trucker for many years.

Richard is survived by his Wife Susan; 3 siblings- Helen (Mark) Kuberski of Mount Carroll, IL, Jackie Ratley of Sycamore, IL, and Michael Ratley of Crystal Lake, IL; favorite uncle Eddie Ratley; Aunt Henrietta Disney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and niece Wendi Picurro.

The family would like to thank the local EMT's, Veterans Affairs, and neighbors; Robin and Jerry Pardus, Matt and Darla Chapmin, and Janey Morse for all their care and support.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date in the Summer of 2022.
