Richard "Dick" Johnson, age 84 of Lena, IL formerly of Verona, WI, passed away on March 2, 2022 at Manor Court in Freeport, IL.

He was born December 22, 1937 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Howard and Lenore (Syse) Johnson.  Dick married Rene Guequierre on September 21, 1968 in Rockford, IL.  He served his country as a member of the United States Army.  Dick worked for Wisconsin Telephone /Ameritech in Madison, Wisconsin for 33 years before retiring.  He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lena.  Dick enjoyed being an Amateur Radio Operator and metal detecting.

He is survived by his wife Rene of Lena; 3 children- David Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Jenny (Brenda Larson) Johnson of Baraboo, WI and Steve (Kittren)  Johnson of Gilbert, AZ; 3 granddaughters- Dallas Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Taylor (JT)  Link of Gilbert, AZ and Haley Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; grandson Kade Richard Johnson of Gilbert, AZ; brother Bill Johnson of Argyle, WI; sister-in-law Carolyn Johnson of Belleville, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and brother Phil.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at12:30 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Cookout/Luncheon to follow service in Fellowship Hall at 1:00 pm.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Lena Food Pantry and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lena.
