Reverend Monsignor Everett J. Hiller, 91, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Midwest Medical Center in Galena, Illinois, after a long illness. Monsignor was born February 3, 1924 in McHenry, Illinois, to William and Susan (Schmitt) Hiller.

Monsignor Hiller attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Geneva, Illinois, and continued to St. Mary Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 27, 1954 by Most Reverend Raymond Hillinger at St. Joseph Church in Harvard, Illinois. In 1968, Monsignor received a Masters degree in Religious Education from Loyola University in Chicago. On May 21, 2011, he received the papal honor of Prelate of Honor (Monsignor) from Pope Benedict XVI. Monsignor's first assignment was Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph Parish, Elgin, Illinois (6/1954-6/1957). He then was assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph Parish, Aurora, Illinois (6/1957-8/1961); Chaplain, St. Joseph Hospital, Belvidere, Illinois (8/1961-12/967); Spiritual Director, Boylan Central Catholic High School, Rockford, Illinois (9/1961-12/1967); Pastor, St. Mary Parish, Oregon, Illinois (12/1967-1/1969); Pastor, St. Mary Parish, Sterling, Illinois (1/1969-9/1973); Parochial Administrator of St. Mary Parish, Tampico, Illinois (2/1970-3/1970); Pastor, St. Rita Parish, Aurora, Illinois (10/1973-6/1985); Pastor, St. Ann Parish, Warren and St. Joseph Parish, Apple River, Illinois (6/1985-6/2000). Monsignor retired from active ministry in June, 2000.

Monsignor is survived by his sisters Bernice Freund and Mildred Durben, brother priests and special friends and caregivers Joseph and Judy Misenko. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Estelle Klapperich, and brother Norbert Hiller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 11:00AM at St. Ann Church in Warren, Illinois. The Most Reverend David J. Malloy will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 4PM-8PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Joseph Church, Apple River, Illinois, with rosary at 8:00PM and visitation from 10:00AM-10:45AM at St. Ann Church prior to the Mass. Interment will be at St. Ann's Cemetery, Warren, Illinois.
