Lena-Raymond E. Spielmann, 85, passed away on November 14, 2017 at the Lena Living Center. He was born on March 29, 1932 in Hermann, MO to Elmer and Irene (Fredrick) Spielmann. Ray married Dorothy (Dot) June Schmidt on September 1, 1956. He served in the Marine Corps from 1950-1954.
Ray worked at the Lena-Winslow School District 202 from 1959-1986, he worked summers in construction for Alvin Neisman, Citizens Bank –Lena as a courier for several years, and Bradley & Bradley Architects in Rockford for 5years after retirement. He was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited.

Raymond is survived by; his wife Dot, his children; Mark (Robin) Spielmann, Kimberly(Randy) Pluss, and Karla Heinz (Eric Zuehlke) five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, two great grand children and six step great grandchildren, one brother; Hal Spielmann (Jan Meyers) of Corydon, IN.

He is preceded in death; by his parents, sister-in-law; Jeanette Spielmann, brother-in-law; Tom Schmidt, Brother and sister-in-law; Donald and Yvonne Ferree.

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00PM, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Leamon Funeral Home, Lena IL

Visitation will be from 11:00AM until time of service Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home.

Pastor Keri Rainsburger will officiate the service

Interment will be at the Lena Burial Park, Lena, IL

A memorial has been established for the Friends Forever and Alzheimer's Research.
