Pauline M. Swearingen, 93, of Lena, IL passed away on June 18, 2026.  She was born on February 12, 1933, in Freeport, IL, to Clifford and Hannah (Mast) Jacobs.  Pauline married Glenn Swearingen on April 26, 1956, at the Lena United Methodist Church, sharing 37 years together before his passing. Pauline worked at A.J.'s Lena Maid Meats for many years.

In her spare time she could always be found caring for her beloved farm cats and tending to her garden. A lover of nature, cardinals held a special place in her heart and she collected them throughout the years at the local auction. Her creativity knew no boundaries, from her famous cherry pie to the Halloween costumes she crafted every October for her children and grandchildren. Above all, she was devoted to her family.

Pauline is survived by her three children- Vallery Swearingen, Alan Swearingen and Calvin Swearingen, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother Harold.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Leamon Funeral Home, 210 West Main Street, Lena, IL.

Funeral service to follow, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Leamon Funeral Home.

Internment will take place at Lena Burial Park.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
