Patricia A. Smith, 80, formally of Lena passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Liberty Village in Freeport, IL. She was born on March 17, 1934 to Paul and Ella (Lobdell) Gassman in Freeport, IL. Patricia married Carl R. Smith on November 28, 1953. She was employed at Micro Switch for 30 years.

Patricia enjoyed to read, shop, travel, and spend her winters in Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Carl, two sons: Brian (Margie) Smith of Orangeville, IL and Brent Smith of Freeport; Grandchildren: Aaron Smith of Pearl City, Natalie Smith of Orangeville, Kevin (Ashley) Smith of Woodstock, IL, Racheal Smith of Crown Point, IN, Stephanie (Adam) Haupt of Potter, NE, Brendyn Smith and Brock Smith both of Freeport; great grandchildren: Dayton and Peyton; two sisters: Ardith Kitner of Lena,IL and Paula (Joe) Gerke of Kent, IL; one brother James (Ruth) Gassman of Lena, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia is preceded by her parents and one sister Elaine Neebel.
Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Salem United Church of Christ, Lena, IL with Rev. Randy Nicholas officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of service on Friday.

Burial will be held at the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
