Lena- Opal L. Esser, 85, of Lena, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 1015 at her daughter's home, surrounded by family, in Freeport, IL. She was born March 22, 1929 in the family home outside of Cuba City, WI, the daughter of George and Olive (Bennett) Pratt. Opal married Bill Esser on October 8, 1948 in Benton, WI. She was a member of the Cedarville Baptist Church.

Opal is survived by her husband Bill of Lena; four children- Cheryl Scott of Harkers Island, NC, Janie (Randy) Manus of Freeport, Carolyn Esser of Freeport, Ron (Luann) Esser of Loves Park, IL: seven grandchildren- Joshua (Melinda) Scott of Sharon, PA, Joel Scott of Niles, OH, Breann (Drew) Trotter of Port Hueneme, CA, Jeffrey Manus of Freeport, Abigail Manus of Freeport, Patience Esser of Loves Park, and Olivia Esser of Loves Park; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers-Merlin (Sharon) Pratt and Eldon (Connie) Pratt both of Cuba City, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Bernerd and Marvin, son-in-law Robert Scott and a granddaughter Lilly Manus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Cedarville Baptist Church in Cedarville, IL.

A vistiation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL; and again from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church on Saturday.

Pastor Gene McIntosh will officiate the service.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Following the services there will be a luncheon at the church.
