Obituary

Nevin D. Kryder, 82, of Lena passed away with his family by his side at Walnut Acres in Freeport IL on Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born March 25, 1936 to Clarence and Martha (Dickson) Kryder in Cedarville, IL. He was a 1954 graduate of Dakota High School. He married Arlene Kuhlemeyer on October 2, 1954. Nevin was a lifelong farmer in the rural Lena area raising dairy cattle and hogs. He was a member of Lena United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Lena Masonic Lodge 174. Nevin was also a member of the Valley of Freeport, Scottish Rite, and Lena Legion.   Nevin was an avid golfer and hunter, enjoyed square dancing with Arlene in their younger years. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona.

Nevin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Arlene of Lena, children; son, Randy (Tam) Kryder of Lena, their children; Karen (Nathan) Hensal, their children Andrew and Jacob; Adam (Karen) Kryder; their children Cameron, Addison, Brayden; Kelsey (Curtis) Goeke; their daughter Audra; son, Robert (Linda) Kryder of Grays Lake, IL their son Seth (Rachel) Kryder; their son William; son, Richard of Niles, IL; sister Shirley (Bob) Alley of Wichita, KS and several- in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nevin is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Sarah Kryder, brothers; John, Roger, and Richard, sisters; Betty and Mary.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Lena United Methodist Church in Lena, IL

A visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, and again from 10:00 until time of service on Tuesday at the church.

A masonic service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday after the visitation.

Pastor Keri Rainsberger will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Lena Burial Park in Lena, IL.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
