Michael "Hillbilly" Thompson, age 53 of Warren, IL, passed away on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at his home. He was born on May 27, 1961 in Monroe, WI to Richard C. and Dorothy (Beyer) Thompson. Michael married Carol Handfelt on December 18, 1992 in Jo Daviess County, Illinois. He was a 1979 graduate of Warren High School. During his life he worked at numerous places including Warren Cheese Plant, Jerry Homb Construction, and Russell Cox Construction. He loved the outdoors. His passion was for hunting, fishing, trapping, playing darts, sports and his love for the Green Bay Packers.

Michael is survived by his wife Carol Thompson; 4 children- Brandy (Adam) Marsden of Warren, Raymond Berg of Minnesota, Michael J. Thompson of Warren, and Ashley Thompson of Hanover Park, IL; 3 grandchildren- Alexander, Levi, and Noah Marsden; sister Wendy (Mark) Schlichting of Indiana; brother Steve (Marsha) Thompson of Warren; sister-in-law Stephanie Thompson of Warren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Craig Thompson.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

A memorial service will follow the visitation, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Cremation rites to be accorded.
