Melvin "Mel" Eads, 67 of Winslow flew up to Heaven on Monday, November 7, 2022 with is family by his side. Mel was born on November 17, 1954 in Mendota, IL to Arthur and Louise (Burch) Eads. He was raised and graduated High School in Morrison, IL. He married Angela Nell in South Lake Tahoe, CA in 2016. For many years Mel worked various maintenance and warehouse jobs. Before his retirement he worked at Fitness Lifestyles and Furst McNess in Freeport. Mel liked his Harley Davidson motorcycle and fishing. He loved living in the county and being outdoors.

Not only was Mel a husband, but he was also a brother, son, and a friend to many. He is survived by his wife Angela; 5 children; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; Trixie his horse; and all his chickens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, many friends and his horse Steve.

The memory of Mel Eads will never be forgotten. God may have him in his keep, but he will forever be in our hearts.

Funeral services will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Visitation will be from10:00 until time of service.

Officiating will be Sean Huguenin.

Cremation rights have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
