Maylene K. Crain, age 97 of Warren, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Monroe, WI. She was born October 9, 1923 in Wards Township to Helmer and Elsie (Hess) Hammer. She married John Crain Sr. on July 3, 1943 in Freeport, IL. Maylene worked for Honeywell for over 20 years and then worked various jobs. She bowled for 48 years and attended 26 National Tournaments. Maylene also enjoyed bingo, knitting, crocheting, and reading.

Maylene is survived by her four children- Kathleen (Ivan) Guenzler of Stockton, John Jr. (Charla) Crain of Pearl City, Jeannie (Jack) Reel of Lena, James (Mary Lynn) Crain of Summerville, SC; thirteen grandchildren- Tina Brinkmeier of Warren, Scott (Judi) Guenzler of Davis, Valerie (Kevin) Dunlavey of Browntown, WI, Jennifer Reel (Chris McMillan) of Austin, TX, Tim Reel (Tami Bidlingmaier) of Winslow, Mark Crain of Freeport, Lisa (Joe) Ernst of Zwingla, IA, Debbie and Cindy Retel of Chicago, Rachel Crain of Freeport, Brandon (Traci) Crain of Evansville, WI, Jason Crain of Atlanta, GA, Christina (Brad) Neubert of Atlanta, GA; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Judy (Dave) Schopf; sisters-in-law Judy Hammer and Shirley Hammer; special friends Randy Leehan and Kathy Hicks both of Warren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in 2011, son Edward Crain in 1999, three brothers Austin (Jane) Hammer, Marlow Hammer, Delano Hammer, sister Beulah (Harlan) Townsend, and twin infant sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

There is no memorial fund established but if you wish to honor her through a donation, the family suggests the Warren Ambulance service.
