Monroe, WI – Mary Ann (Mokros) Merrill, 85, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Azura Memory Care in Monroe.  She was born to Lester and Deila (Massey) Tietjen on May 16, 1933.  Mary Ann married James Mokros on October 25, 1950. She and James farmed for many years in the Lena area.  James passed away on October 19, 1986.  She then married Donald Merrill on June 10, 1989.

Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, tending to flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, of Sterling, IL, four children: Greg (Melody) of Freeport, IL, Dianna (Harry) Unzicker of Oregon, IL , Lyle (Kristine) of Platteville, WI, and Albert (Ann) of Lena, two step-children: Michael Merrill of Davenport, IA and Sarah Merrill (Maurice Bell) of Sterling, IL; She is also survived by twelve grandchildren  and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, brother, Lester Tietjen and sister, Helen Franz.

A visitation will be at the Leamon Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25 ^th beginning at 10:00 am.

A funeral service will be held at the Leamon Funeral in Lena at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25, 2018.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Freeport.

A luncheon will follow burial at the Faith United Methodist Church in Freeport.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
