Obituary

Mary Ellen Miller, age 94 of Lena, passed away on Thursday November 30, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. She was born March 20, 1923 in Bowling Green, OH, the daughter of Clyde and Ada Clark. She graduated from Bowling Green High School in the class of 1940. Mary Ellen married Oscar Clark Miller on December 4, 1942. She worked as a housewife until 1979 and then became a Librarian at Highland Community College for 20 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Lena. Mary Ellen loved bible study, bridge, knitting, and the Chicago White Sox.

Oscar and Mary Ellen lived in Columbus, OH, Harrisburg, PA, Boston, MA, Saginaw, MI, Streator and Paris, IL, during his 35 years with International Harvester and finally retiring to Lena, IL.

Mary Ellen is survived by 3 sons- Clark (Susan) Miller of Lanark, IL, Joe (Mary Jane) Miller of Bloomington, IL, and James (Barbara) Miller of Polo, IL; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oscar on June 14, 1991, 4 sisters- Jean Oates, Martha Azzam, Opal Nesef, and Charlotte Snow, and a brother Clyde Clark jr.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Leamon's Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December, 4, 2017 at the Lanark Cemetery.

Rev. Rick Cook will officiate.

A memorial has been established in her name.
