Marvin R. Wolber (90), of Moline, IL, formally of Warren, IL, passed away peacefully on August 10 ^th , 2018 in Rock Island IL.  Marvin was born on March 31, 1928 in Sterling, IL to Edith and Andrew Wolber.

Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and traveling. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Marvin valued education and completed both a bachelor's and master's degree from Northern Illinois University. He spent the majority of his teaching career as a teacher in the Warren School District. While living in Warren, he was involved in The Lions Club and Boy Scouts of America. He moved to the Quad Cities in 2002 and was soon volunteering in the Rock Island-Milan School District as both a math and literacy tutor.  In 2008, he was named Honorary Citizen of Rock Island because of his volunteering.  In 2011, he participated in the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

At the time of his passing, he was survived by his second wife Kay Wolber (married 2011) of Moline, Dr. Kent (Lisa) Wolber of Hannibal, MO, Gary (Nancy) Wolber of Rock Island, IL, and Connie (Dr. Michael) Ostap of Downington, PA, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a brother Ronald (Helen) Wolber of Mount Carroll, IL, who passed August 31.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wolber (married 1949-2002), his parents, brothers Wayne in infancy and Harold (2014), and sisters Helen Friel (2015) and Florence Dickinson (2015).

A celebration of life is scheduled at Heritage Woods of Moline on Saturday, September 29 from 2:30 – 4:00 with a private internment at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.   Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice "Make the Moments Count" Memorial Fund (106 19 ^th Ave, Suite 101, Moline, IL) or to Friendship Manor Memorial Fund (1209 21 ^st Ave, Rock Island IL).
