Obituary

Mark Dameier Brown, 80, of Big Pine Bluff, VA passed away peacefully at Heritage Hall Nursing Facility on June 16, 2018, following a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was beloved son of Mark and Doris Brown, Lena (Avon Park Florida). He was born May 5, 1938 in Rockford IL. He graduated Lena High School in 1956, and entered the Army in June 1956. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. In Paratrooper School he developed his loved of flying, later getting his license and spent several years as a private pilot in Montana, the Caribbean, and Florida. He ran a successful knife sharpening business (with wife Bonnie), learned jet maintenance and had many other jobs.

Mark is survived by his five children, sons, James Dana, Jack Scott, and Mark Dennis, and daughters, Sherrill Ann and Jill Marie and their families, sisters Pat Walles (Dwight), Penny Kerr and ex wife Doris Johnson Brown.

He was preceded in death by wife Bonnie, his parents, and brother-in-law Ray Kerr.

The family wishes to thank the VA workers that helped coordinate his care and the staff at Heritage Hall for their care and communication with us, also the class of '56 for their messages of encouragement.

Cremation Rights have been accorded.

A private burial will be held at Lena Burial Park.
