Marian Eileen (Robieson) Long, 95, of Freeport, Il passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Liberty Village/Manor Court, surrounded by her family. Marian was eldest of 11 children of Lewis and Ida (Grabow) Robieson and was born at the family farm in Lena on November 17, 1930.
She graduated from Lena High School in 1948 and then went to work at the W.T. Rawleigh Company in Freeport, IL. She married Kenneth E. Long on February 12, 1950, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL and together they raised their family on their dairy farm near Winslow, IL. After Kenneth retired from farming, the family moved to Freeport, IL and Marian began work at Micro Switch (a division on Honeywell), where she worked for 40 years.
Marian enjoyed collecting, card-making, and crafting. She especially enjoyed passing on her skills to others, including during over 20 years as a 4H leader, where she taught many girls how to sew and bake. Marian was active in Winslow Home Extension.
Marian enjoyed traveling and was a life-long Cubs fan.
Surviving are her daughters Sherry (Jeffrey Kuhlmeyer) Brinker of Lena and Susan (Timothy) Gundrum of Woodstock, brothers Dwayne (Carol) Robieson, Donald Robieson, Laverne (Julie) Robieson, Nelson (Carol) Robieson, Rolland (Sheryl) Robieson and sister Carol Niemann, brother-in-law Robert Bouray, sister-in-law Norma Robieson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Lawrence, Willard and Robert Robieson, sister Evelyn Bouray, sister-in-law Georgene (Buss) Robieson and Emogene (Marti) Robieson and brother-in-law Lester Niemann.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL with a visitation from 9:00 am until time of service.
Officiating will be Pastor John Tabaka.
Burial will take place at Lena Burial Park in Lena, IL.
A memorial has been established in Marian's name.
The family extends a special thanks to Leamon's Funeral Home, Liberty Village-Manor Court and FHN Hospice Services.
