Obituary

Margaret M. Arand (Mom, Grams, Grandma, aunt Maggie) age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 8, 2022 surrounded by family. Her spunky and loving personality will be carried on by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and an extended family of relations and friends.

For anyone that knew her, even for a short time, knew just how lucky we were and they were to have her in our lives. She lived for gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. And lets never forget, donating to every charity that asked, buying and saving all the sheets to use for her quilt backings, opening a movie store with her movie collection, and always making sure that Franklin Mint would never go out of business. Those decorative plates, eagle statues, and eagle knives have to be worth a fortune!!

She never left an animal go hungry, and trying to lure 2 baby squirrels into the house with peanuts so she could take care of them are only small examples of how loving and welcoming she was.

So many knew her for her daily text messages of "Good morning! Hope you have a great day!", " I just wanted to say I love you!", her love for emoji's, and how she was so good at telling on herself in her texts, "mowing in the heat", "planting flowers in the heat", "raking leaves and winterizing her flower beds in the bitter cold!"  She showed her love though text messages to so many friends and family everyday.

Margaret is survived by her 5 children- Robert Hamilton, Carl Hamilton, Jean (Jeff) Wierema, George (Mary) Arand, and Debbie (Jerry) Eberly. Three sisters- Anna Delp, Delores "De" Helle, and JoAnn Hovorka.  She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and so many friends who became family.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents- Oakley and Rose Hazen, husband- George Arand, son- William Hamilton, 3 sisters- Evelyn Harrison, Lila Grindey, and Teresa Hazen, and 1 grandchild- Alesha Arand.

We are so very grateful for this amazing lady who made us a family.

"Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. So loved, so missed, so very dear."

A visitation service will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home- 519 Tisdel Ave, Warren, IL with a funeral service to follow.

Burial service will be held after the funeral service at Ladies Union Cemetery- 801 N Simmons St., Stockton, IL.
