Marcia L.
Lobdell
Jul 20, 1953 — Feb 20, 2021
Marcia Lynn Lobdell, 67, of Lena, IL passed away at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home on Saturday, February 20, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Marcia was born on July 20, 1953 to Melvin and Lavonia (Bicker) Buchenau in Freeport, IL. She graduated from Lena-Winslow High School in 1971. She married her high school sweetheart, Mark Lobdell, on May 20, 1973. She farmed with her husband for over 20 years while they raised their two sons. She never stopped helping Mark on the farm, continuing to do bookwork even while working in Freeport. Marcia started working for Dr. Alberts in Freeport at Park Hills Optical as a receptionist. In 2008, the clinic changed names to the Monroe Clinic, Freeport Eye Care. Marcia retired in 2019 after 23 years of service. In 2011, Mark and Marcia built their dream house on the farm, which she loved spending time in her sunroom, and working on her landscaping.
Marcia always put her family first, and enjoyed spending time with them more than anything else. She would drop anything for anybody. Her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Nana" were the light of her life in recent years. Marcia was a member of several committees and groups at the Lena United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering her time there. She also enjoyed knitting and curling up with a good book in her sunroom.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mark, sons Brad (Keelee) Lobdell and Brian (Ann) Lobdell, and grandchildren Mikey, Grant, Ryder and Everlee Lobdell, her sister Pat Fuchs, brother Larry (Judy) Buchenau, aunts Verla Bicker and Violet Altenbern, sister-in-law Sally Buchenau, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron Buchenau, and brother-in-law Ron Fuchs.
Private family services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Lena United Methodist Church. The services can be livestreamed on the churches Facebook page.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.
Pastor Keri Rainsberger will officiate the services.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
