Marcella Florene Pearson, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Elizabeth Nursing home. She was born May 20, 1924 in the family home in rural Guilford, Illinois to John Oliver Menzemer and Annie Magdalena Bahr Menzemer.

Marce worked at DeKalb Agriculture in Warren where she met and later married Bernard Bailey Pearson June 19, 1948 at the Homestead. She later worked as a secretary for the Warren High School for more than 20 years where she dearly enjoyed the students and the faculty.

Marce was a member of the Rebecca's club for many years as well as active in the Presbyterian Church of Warren, and later in the Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge and 500 as well as gardening. But her most favorite thing was spending time with her family, as was Ben's. She will be missed.

She is survived by her sons and daughters, Lana (Neal) Caterson of South Dakota, Kim Pearson of Freeport, Illinois, Brad (Brenda) Pearson of Woodbine, Illinois, Brian (Elaine) Pearson of Colorado Springs and Kay Wolff of Montello, Wisconsin, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben in 2005, her daughter-in-law Jan Elaine Geach Pearson in 2011, and her son-in-law Randall James Wolff in 2017.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the first United Methodist Church in Warren.

Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Warren, Illinois.

Pastor Keri Rainsberger will officiate.

A memorial has been established in her name.
