Lyle R. Davidson, 84, of Lena, IL went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon, IL.  Lyle was born on January, 27, 1930 to Emroy F. and Opal (Chatterton) Davidson in Murdo, SD.  He married Maybelle Doeden Davidson on September 23, 1972 in Madison, WI.  Maybelle passed away February 9, 2003.   He served his country in the United States Marines from 1951-1953, during the Korean War. While stationed in Hawaii, he was a jet mechanic.  He farmed for many years on his family farm in Hand County SD.  In 1964 he moved his family to Minnesota, in 1972 to Wisconsin, then to Lena, IL in 1978.  After moving to Lena, he worked as an auto mechanic at the Ken-Harold Buick Garage in Freeport, IL. He enjoyed puzzles, spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren, he was a great pool player. He was a member of Grace FMC of McConnell, IL, and also attended  Abiding Word Church in Sterling, IL while he lived there.

He is survived by a six daughters; Helen Davidson, Mary (Don) Gander all of Mineral Point, WI, Carol Gander of McFarland, WI, Nikki (Mark) Leverton of McConnell, IL, Dawn (Greg) Spinhirne of Lena, IL, Toni (Dan) Busker of McConnell, IL , six sons; Don (Genie) Davidson of Torrance, CA, John (Linda Westra) Davidson of Belleville, WI, Tim Bisbee of DeForest, WI, Richard (Sue) Mooney of Spooner, WI, Steve (Linda) Davidson of Avoca, WI, and Scott (Audra Burge) Davidson, of Sterling, IL; grandchildren Billy and Marta Bowe, Donna, Everett and Tanya Davidson, Jeremy, Rebecca, and Joshua Bisbee, Joe, Bob and Ben Mooney, David (April) Gander, Steve Davidson, Gena (Kris) Janecek, Dale (Stephanie) Gander, Doris, Leon, and Amanda Gander, Deb (Eric) Gorham, Adam (Sarah) Leverton, and Ann (Kory Polhill) Leverton, John Spinhirne, Danielle (Joe) Kohn, Jeff (Shawna) Busker, Jessica (Dustin) Bair, Shelby and McKenzie Davidson, Landyn and Gabriel Burge; many great grandchildren; one sister Laura (George) Hackworth of Sturgis SD; three sisters-in-law Gwen Davidson of California, Betty Lu Davidson of Wisconsin, and Ann Doeden of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maybelle; brothers Everett, Claud, Elvin, Fred, and Charles Davidson; sisters Bonnie Miller, Ella Davidson , Cora Walker, and Bertha Jarabek.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

A visitation will be from 4-8:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Rev. Paul Alf and Rev. Scott Porter will officiate the service.

Burial will be at the Lena Burial Park in Lena, IL.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
