Lowell Frederick TerHark, 84, of Lena, IL passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Lena Living Center in Lena, IL. Lowell was born on December 4, 1930 to Fred and Grace (Bicksler) TerHark. He graduated from Shannon High School in 1949. He married Rosemarie Petri in Shannon, IL in 1953. Lowell served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. In 1949, he started dairy farming. He sold registered dairy cows throughout the US and Canada, and had a top producing cow in California. In 1971 he obtained a real estate license and sold real estate until 1985. In 1984 he obtained an auctioneer license, and held many auctions until 1990. In 1998, he moved to Lena, and obtained a CDL license and drove school buses for the Freeport School District. He did various volunteer work through 4-H, youth clinics, served on church committees, and was the president of the Shannon Lions Club and a member of the Lena Lions Club.

Lowell is survived by his wife Rosemaire of Lena, IL; three children Steven (Laurie) TerHark of Lake Geneva, WI, Heidi (Cody) Calzavara of Shannon, IL, and Dan (Gabriela) TerHark of Polo, IL; seven grandchildren Tyler, Travis, Britton, Shayne, Jordan, Barrett and Valeria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Rev. Rick Bader will officiate the services.
