Lois C. Thrasher, 93, of Freeport, IL, formerly of Lena, IL passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023.  She was born on April 8, 1930 to Logan and Hazel (Winchell) Kahly in Stephenson County, IL.  She attended Dakota High School.  On January 16, 1949 she married Mel Thrasher in Lena, IL.  During her career, she worked at numerous businesses in Lena.  She was a 70 year member of Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her five children—Charles (Molly) Thrasher of Ladd, IL, Daniel Thrasher of Sun Prairie, WI, Pam (Chris Korf) Thrasher of Freeport, IL Scott Thrasher of Elk Grove Village, IL and Ann Lender of St. Louis, MO; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mel, son Melvin, four brothers, and three sisters.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Liberty Village in Freeport, IL for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

A visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services on Tuesday at the Leamon Funeral Home.

A private family burial will take place at Lena Burial Park.

Pamela Pearson will officiate the services.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
