Lois M. Phillips, age 98, died Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Lena Living Center. Lois was born March 7, 1916 the 4th of 13 children to Oliver and Anna Holmes. She married Robert Phillips on December 28, 1935, they lived together for almost 65 years until his death on May 28, 2000.

She was a dedicated farm wife, always enjoying milking cows, feeding the chickens and gardening. Later she worked at a restaurant and then worked for 9 years at the Lena Nursing Home. Lois enjoyed sewing and made quilts for all the family. She was a member of the Lena United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Circle and the Stephenson County Home Extension.

Lois is survived by her one daughter, Anna Mae (Leo) Wilken of Madison, WI. Six grandsons; Dirk (Karen) of Brookfield, WI, Doug (Cindy) of Byron, IL, Dennis (Shelley) of Sun Prairie, Wi, David of Longmont, Co, Dean (Amy) of Juneau, WI and Darin of Platteville, WI. Great grandchildren; Megan and Nicole, Benjamin, Katrina (Adam) Rhodes, Stefanie Constantine, Danielle, Zachary and Phillip, Arielle and Parker. Brother Maurice (Elaine) Holmes, Brothers in law Arnold (Ruby) Reuber and Vernon Phillips, Sisters in law Thelma Duft and Marilyn Holmes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 11 siblings.
