Lois Marie Paulsen, age 89 passed away on Friday November 3, 2017 at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport, IL.

She was born in Lena, IL on April 2, 1928, the daughter of Grover and Orpha (Wiley) Shippee. She married Louis J. Paulsen at St. Joseph Catholic church in Lena on May 25, 1946. She dearly loved her family, friends, playing golf and poker.

Lois is survived by her two sons- Dennis Paulsen of St. Donatus, IA, and Daniel (Diane) Paulsen of Lena; three grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Paulsen and Michael Paulsen of Lena, Jessica Endicott of Dallas, TX; three great-grandchildren Isabelle and Colton Paulsen of Lena, and Evie Endicott of Dallas TX; sisters Elsie (Don) Lobdell of Lena, and Orpha Schubert of Weaverville, NC; two very dear friends Jane Frazer and Nancy Farmer both of Lena.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Gregory Paulsen; brothers Leon Shippee, who died during infancy, and Robert Shippee; sisters, Ruth Ingram, Virginia Haas, Sarah Phillips, and Geraldine Prince.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Salem-Shippee Cemetery in McConnell, IL.

Rev. Father Michael Morrissey will officiate the services.

A memorial has been established in her name.
