LaVerne E. Buske, 78, of Warren, IL passed February 6, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was born to Edwin and Lois (Brocious) Buske on July 22, 1936, in Stephenson County, IL. He graduated from Lena High School in 1955. He married Lucille M. Meier October 27, 1956 at the Nora Community Church. LaVerne has been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren since 1968.

LaVerne was in the army two years, farmed ten years, worked for Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Freeport for 30 years, and drove school bus for Thill Bus Service in Warren until he was unable due to his health. Then, LaVerne and Lucille and their family purchased and operated L & L Lawn Care. LaVerne and Lucille were also foster parents from 1976 to 1984. He was a member of the Eagle's Club in Freeport and American Legion in Warren for many years. He volunteered for the Warren fire department for 12 years.

He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing whenever possible. He and Lucille also enjoyed traveling. They were able to travel to all but seven states as well as Canada, Alaska, and Freeport, Bahamas. They also camped often and enjoyed spending time in their cabin on the Pecatonica River near Freeport, IL. He also had a green thumb, enjoying gardening, and like woodworking, making trinket items for family and friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

LaVerne was a beloved husband, father grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be missed by his wife, Lucille; six daughters: Melody (Thomas) Grindey of Warren,IL,Krystal (Kurt) Schlichting of Green Bay, WI, Melinda (William) Phillips of Warren,IL, Kimberly (Kable) Janicke of Lena, IL, Melissa (Scott) Sargent of Browntown, WI, and Linda (Charles) Voegeli of Monroe, WI; sister, Lorraine (Eugene) Jogerst of Scales Mound, IL; sister-in-law, Inez Meier of Chadwick, IL; brother-in-law Nelce Mosley of Palm Desert, CA; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lois Buske; his in laws, Fred and Edith Meier; a son, Joseph Buske; a son-in-law, Terry Voegeli; a sister-in-law, Iona Mosley; a brother-in-law, Edward Meier; and a twin brother, Laverle Buske.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at the Bartell Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at the Bartell Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Officiating will be Pastor Art Stees.

Cremation Rites to be accorded.

Luncheon to follow the service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren.
