Laura V. Rice, 99 of Rockford, IL, formerly of Lena, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Bickford of Rockford Senior Living Center.
Laura was born on June 28, 1917 in Monroe, WI. She was the daughter of Preston E. and Cora (Shippy) Klinger. Laura married William Rice on June 28, 1935 in Lanark, IL.
She was employed by Burgess Battery in Freeport, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, IL. Laura loved visiting Antique Flee Markets and playing cards.
Surviving is a son William (Kay) Rice of Lykens, PA., daughter Linda (Joe) Greenhaw of Owasso, OK. 7 grandchildren, Lucinda Rice of IL, Edwin (Sue) Rice of PA, Kirk Rice of OK, Michelle Rice of PA, John Byrd of IL, Pamela (Len) Mandell of FL, and Drinda Rice of PA. 3 great grandchildren Alex (Elizabeth) Richards of KS, Liz (Kyle) Jacobs of KS and Morgan Mandell of FL. and 1 great great-granddaughter Emersyn Jacobs of KS She is also survived by her beloved dog "Buddy".
Following the wishes of the family there will be no services.
Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL
