Larry C. Nichols, 80, of Apple River, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his home.  Larry was born on July 19, 1943 in Port Clinton, OH to Veneta (Morgan) Nichols.  He married Lillian Lomas on October 6, 1962 in Cedarville, IL and together they raised three sons.

For many years, Larry was an over the road truck driver.  He also drove truck for Landstar, Ag-Tech, and Wanek Trucking.  Most recently, Larry worked for EZ-Auto Finance where he transported vehicles.  He enjoyed the extra cash, but the true bonus was driving the vehicles he was transporting.  Larry loved good food and an ice-cold beer.  He enjoyed watching baseball and football.  Driving was Larry's passion, he enjoyed long scenic motorcycle rides and listening to music while driving his pickup truck.

Larry is survived by his sons; Larry Jr. (Margaret) Nichols of Apple River, IL, and Lonnie (Bonnie) Nichols of Green Bay, WI, grandchildren; Jessi Nichols, Ryan (Katie) Nichols, and Jordan (Nicole) Nichols, great-grandchildren; Kensli, Natalie, Ava, and Grant.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Veneta, his son Jerry, and his wife Lillian.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 NOON on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

A visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of services on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

Burial will take place at West Ella Highland Cemetery in Gratiot, WI.
