Lena- Lamont "Monte" J. Aurand, age 59, passed away suddenly on Sunday February 8, 2015, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. He was born on March 6, 1955, in Freeport, IL to Russell and Lucille (Leitzen) Aurand. Monte graduated in 1973 from Lena-Winslow High School, and worked at Lena Builders for over 30 years. He married Diane Moring on November 5, 1983 in Lena, IL. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a lover of sports, primarily the Chicago Bears and Cubs, and an avid follower of Le-win football. He loved dogs, and enjoyed his time with his Pitbull, Blazer.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Lena; two sons, Justin (Megan Thede) Aurand of Lena, and Jared (Andrea Lindemann) Aurand of Watertown, WI; four grandchildren- Brady, Trenton, Cooper, and Emirae Aurand; four siblings- Janice (Kurt) Miller of Lexington, KY, Norman Aurand of Orangeville, IL, Jeanne (John) Nielsen of Delavan, WI, and Sharon Tillis of Tilden, NE; mother in law-Ilene Moring of Forreston, IL; numerous brother and sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father in law, Verlyn Moring; brother, Steven Aurand; brother in laws- Robert Ferguson II, Daniel Tillis, and Daniel Hickman.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday February 12, 2015 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday February 13, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena.

Officiating will be Reverend Rick Bader.

Burial will be at the Lena Burial Park.

A luncheon will follow the services at Coach's Bar and Grill in Lena.

A memorial has been established in his name.
