Kirk L. Koehn, 23, of Scales Mound, IL passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 4, 1990 in Freeport, IL to Steven Koehn and Sherrill Koehn. Kirk graduated from Warren High School in 2009. He was employed by Gavilon Grain, as a millwright where he traveled to all of their locations. Kirk loved sports and hunting. He played baseball, basketball, and football in high school. He enjoyed hunting on his dad's and grandpa's farms, and went fishing when he had time. He was a member of the Winter Warriors Snowmobile Club and he enjoyed participating in the demolition derby at the Jo Daviess County Fair in Warren, IL every year. Kirk loved to socialize. He had a lot of friends and would do anything for them.
Kirk is survived by his parents Steven Koehn of Scales Mound, IL and Sherrill Koehn of Kinmundy, IL, two brothers; Nicholas Koehn of Normal, IL and Jeremy Koehn of Scales Mound, IL, two sisters; Sonya (Koehn) Jacoby of Oregon, and Samantha Koehn of Milwaukee, WI, a grandpa Harlan Koehn of Apple River, IL, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and his dog Rocky.
Kirk was preceded in death by his grandparents Wayne and Delma Blair, and Edith Koehn, two uncles; Tim and Jamie Koehn.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 4-8:00 PM at the Warren High School.
Funeral services to celebrate Kirk's life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Warren High School.
Interment will take place at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in.
Warren, IL.
Following services, a luncheon will be held at the Apple River Event Center.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
