Obituary

Kim E. Lobdell, 61, of Lena passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on December 14, 1954 in Freeport, IL. He was the son of Robert and Gayle (Borchardt) Lobdell. Kim was a graduate of Lena-Winslow High School in the class of 1973. He also attended Highland Community College in Freeport, IL. Kim began working after high school as a carpenter for Bob Hendry Construction and then later at the Ralston Purina Plant near Lena until its closing in 1985. He purchased Spare Time Lanes in Lena and was owner operator until he sold the business in 2005. Kim married Nancy Rice on June 3, 1989 at the Lena United Methodist Church in Lena. He worked for the Lena-Winslow Elementary School as a custodian for nine years retiring in 2015. Kim was a member of the Lena United Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and flying kites.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy of Lena; children: Stacy Lobdell and Amy Lobdell (Troy Brainard) all of Freeport, IL, Kimberly (Brian) Daws of Forreston, IL and Angie (Carl) Meyer of Stillman Valley, IL; grandchildren: Hunter Daws and Carter Daws, Lucas Meyer and Matthew Meyer; brothers Jeff (Lisa) Lobdell of Lena, IL and Dan ( Kathi Gemmell) Lobdell of Freeport, IL; Mother-in-law, Anna Johnson of PawPaw, IL and sister-in-law, Sherrie (Dave) Flavin of DeKalb, IL and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, on March 18, 1993 and mother, Gayle, on February 25, 2009, an infant brother, Michael, father-in-law, Warren Johnson and sister-in-law, Sandy Sondgeroth.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Lena United Methodist Church Lena, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Rev. Brian LeBaron will officiate at the service and a luncheon will follow immediately at the church.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
