Julie Schneider, age 56 of McConnell, IL, passed away on February 11, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI.
She was born on August 22, 1968, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Charles and Ramona (Misner) Steelberg. She married Chip Schneider on April 29, 1989, at the Rolling Meadows Baptist Church in Rolling Meadows, IL.
Julie was a homemaker and enjoyed being a wife and Mother, she was an amazing loving mother and a devoted wife who loved her Lord and Savior. She was her children's teacher who homeschooled each and every one of them and enjoyed watching them grow. She loved crafts and decorating for fall and Christmas. She loved baking, especially her grandma Misner's brownies, she carried on that recipe in honor of her grandma. Julie was an amazing grandma and loved to give to others. She enjoyed working in her gardens and taking evening walks with her family and always holding her dear husband's hand! A mother, best friend and Chip's one and only! She will be missed and loved forever!
Julie is survived by her husband Chip; 10 children- Jonathan (30), Rebekah (28) (Eric) Lawson, Nathanael (27) (Cheyenne), Rachel (25) (Daniel) Book, Abigail (23) (Chris) Aspinwall, Jeremiah (21), Hannah (20), Caleb (15), Joanna (13), and Joshua (8); 4 grandchildren- Abiyah, Caiden, Joanna, Belinda, and three more on the way; mother Ramona Steelberg; sister Laurie (Jeff) Kolker; and brother Eric (Yolanda) Steelberg.
Julie was preceded by her father and brother Ross.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Zion Church of Freeport, 4292 W. Stephenson Street Road, Freeport, IL.
Funeral service to begin at 11:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Zion Church of Freeport.
Officiating will be Pastor Steve Rios.
Interment will take place at Silent Hill Cemetery in McConnell, IL. Private graveside service for immediate family only.
Luncheon to follow at the church.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
