Judith A. Polhill, 83, of Lena, passed away peacefully in Monroe, WI, on November 27, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1942, in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Edge) King. Judy married Melvin "Butch" Polhill on August 29, 1959, in Nashua, IA.
Judy and Butch operated Polhill's Lena Q where she cooked and the locals gathered. Also, she made wedding and special occasion cakes. She worked at the Lena Dental Office and Shopper's Guide before owning the Country Windmill Gift store until her retirement. She was a member of Laureate Gamma Omicron Sorority, the LBPA, served on the Lena Community Center Board and was the founder of the very successful Bunny Hop.
She is survived by two sons- Richard (Jane) Polhill of Columbus, GA and Kirk (Lynn) Polhill of Lena, IL; four grandchildren- William (Katie) Polhill and their children Jay and Gus of Upatoi, GA, Kyle Polhill, Kory (Ann) Polhill and their children Cora and Harper, and Kaitlyn Polhill all of Lena.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Helen King, In-Laws Nelson and Bernice Polhill, husband Melvin "Butch" Polhill, brother Bob King, and grandson Jay Polhill.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.- noon with the funeral service to follow on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Lena United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Melwin Alagodi.
Interment will take place at the Lena Burial Park with a luncheon to follow at the church.
A memorial has been established in her name.
